Our Commitment to Accessibility
Trial Lawyers United LLC is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all individuals, including people with disabilities. We believe that every person deserves equal access to information about their legal rights, and we strive to provide a website experience that is inclusive and barrier-free.
We are committed to conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines provide a widely recognized standard for web accessibility that addresses the needs of people with visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.
Accessibility Standards
Our website is designed and maintained in accordance with the four core principles of WCAG 2.1:
Perceivable
Information and user interface components are presented in ways that all users can perceive, regardless of sensory ability.
- Text alternatives: All non-text content (images, icons, graphics) includes descriptive alt text that conveys the meaning and function of the content.
- Captions and transcripts: Where video or audio content is provided, captions and/or transcripts are made available.
- Color contrast: Text and interactive elements meet or exceed the minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text, as specified by WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
- Responsive design: Content adapts to different screen sizes, orientations, and zoom levels without loss of information or functionality.
- Text resizing: Users can resize text up to 200% without assistive technology, without loss of content or functionality.
Operable
User interface components and navigation are operable by all users, including those who rely on assistive technologies.
- Keyboard accessibility: All functionality is accessible via keyboard navigation. Users can navigate through all interactive elements (links, buttons, forms, menus) using the Tab, Enter, and Arrow keys.
- Focus indicators: Visible focus indicators are provided on all interactive elements to assist keyboard and switch-device users.
- No timing restrictions: Content does not require timed interactions that could disadvantage users with disabilities.
- Navigation consistency: Navigation mechanisms are consistent across all pages. Skip navigation links are provided to allow users to bypass repetitive content.
- Descriptive link text: Links use descriptive text that identifies the purpose of the link, rather than generic phrases like ‘click here.’
Understandable
Information and the operation of the user interface are understandable to all users.
- Readable content: Content is written in clear, plain language appropriate for a general audience. Legal terms are explained when used.
- Predictable behavior: Web pages appear and operate in predictable ways. Navigating to a new page or submitting a form does not cause unexpected changes in context.
- Error identification: Form fields that require specific input display clear error messages that identify the error and suggest how to correct it.
- Labels and instructions: Form fields include visible labels and, where necessary, instructions to help users complete the form correctly.
- Language identification: The primary language of each page is identified in the HTML markup to assist screen readers.
Robust
Content is robust enough to be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.
- Valid HTML: Pages are built with valid, standards-compliant HTML to ensure compatibility with current and future assistive technologies.
- ARIA landmarks: Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) landmarks and roles are used to identify page regions (header, navigation, main content, footer) for screen reader users.
- Compatibility testing: The Site is tested with common screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) and browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) to ensure broad compatibility.
Measures We Take
To maintain and improve accessibility, Trial Lawyers United LLC takes the following measures:
- Accessibility is included as a requirement in our website design and development process.
- We conduct periodic accessibility audits using both automated testing tools and manual evaluation.
- We provide accessibility awareness guidance to content authors who contribute to the Site.
- We monitor and address accessibility issues as they are identified through testing or user feedback.
- We engage qualified accessibility consultants to conduct independent reviews when significant changes are made to the Site.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance, some content on the Site may not yet meet every accessibility standard. Known limitations include:
- Third-party content: Some embedded content from third-party platforms (such as video players, chat widgets, or social media feeds) may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 standards. We work with our vendors to address these issues.
- Legacy documents: Certain PDF documents uploaded prior to the adoption of this policy may not be fully accessible. We are working to remediate these documents and will provide accessible alternatives upon request.
- Dynamic content: Some interactive features (such as case evaluation forms with conditional logic) may present accessibility challenges. We are actively working to improve these elements.
We are committed to addressing these limitations on an ongoing basis and welcome feedback from users who encounter barriers.
Assistive Technology Compatibility
This Site is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers: JAWS (Windows), NVDA (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), TalkBack (Android).
- Screen magnification: ZoomText, built-in browser zoom, and operating system magnification features.
- Voice recognition: Dragon NaturallySpeaking and built-in voice control features.
- Switch devices and alternative input methods: Standard keyboard navigation and switch access.
