One of our attorneys played a key role in a whistleblower case that resulted in a recovery back to the federal government by a company masquerading as a “Woman-Owned Small Business” in order to win aerospace contracts from the federal government when, in fact, the company was allegedly owned entirely by men. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, UFC Aerospace LLC and its former president admitted that the company never qualified for Woman‑Owned Small Business status and agreed to pay $20,015,956.92 to resolve civil fraud claims in the Southern District of New York. Public filings note admissions regarding ownership and control requirements under the Small Business Act, and the settlement’s approval by Judge William H. Pauley III.
